In her own words

This bracelet is one of my most cherished possessions.

The theme was inspired by a children’s book I loved growing up, My Dinosaur. It sparked a lifelong passion for dinosaurs, and I chose Elfbeads glass for this bracelet because the colors reminded me of the book. I also added silver scale charms — because why wouldn’t I for a dinosaur bracelet.

Growing up, I was often told that dinosaurs were for boys. I’m so thankful my mom never believed that. She supported my interests completely — toys, books, movies, and everything in between. Even now, she still finds little dinosaur trinkets for me.

I once wanted to be a paleontologist, but migraines made that path impossible. Instead, dinosaurs became a passion I could continue to love in a different way.

I created this bracelet because I wanted to wear that passion openly. It’s something I can wear both professionally and casually, and it often starts conversations. I love when people — both children and adults — compliment it. It always brings out an adult’s inner child.

One of my favorite moments was with my nephew. He had been shy around me for years, until I showed him my bracelet at one of his T-ball games. After that, he started wearing dinosaur shirts whenever I’m around. It’s his way of connecting with me, and I love it so much.

I also have other bracelets that hold deep meaning for me, including an ocean-themed one and a memorial bracelet for my nearly 18-year-old poodle, Romeo. Collecting allows me to carry memories, love, and loss with me every day.
